HMRC Presentation night!

Great time was had by all at the presentation evening in late Jan. Bradley Smith was there to present the trophies. Many headaches in the morning.

Alfonso Lygo's (Bike Sport News) round up of 2009 season

Graphic UK Racing (Dean Skipper/Basil Bannayi) came into the 2009 campaign with a brace of well prepared R1s and whilst the results sheets only show a single win at Snetterton the pairing remained focussed and grabbed as many points as possible to take the J1000 title in what was a massive field with no less than 32 teams scoring points. They had to wait until the final round and they were chased home by Spellfame Racing (Andrew Main/Richard Lloyd) who also had a single win on their CV along with a second and a third – mirroring Graphics. Joint third in the standings were brothers Rawlings – Lee and Matt (Rawlings Racing) who celebrated a class win at Anglesey and the near identical green meanies of Brad Patras and Keith Tribe (GT Racing) further down the road, their highest finish of the season was a second at Mallory Park in the opening round in March. The second Junior string of Redmond Costello Racing (Drew Tommons/Jon Leach/Maria Costello/Anthony Delaney) were fifth in the busy table on 57 points, two ahead of Banzai Racing (Rupert Thompson/Ben Jenkins) with Piston Broke Racing (Dion Robinson/Tom Rutherford) and Team TAR (Gary Bransgrove/Steve Callahan) both on fifty points each. Piston’s half century consisted of no less than two class wins leaving them some time to reflect on what could have been achieved if they had entered more rounds.

2nd in the Junior Endurance Championship

Woo hoo! We kept our second in the championship despite me not racing due to a broken finger. Paul stood in and did a great job. Mixed feelings from me as there was a mathematical chance of beating Graphics UK together with the mixed luck of a DNS at Anglesey and punctured tyre at Pembrey where we lost a bunch of points. In any case for our second season and still wearing our novice jackets and a combined age of 101 I don't think we did too bad at all!  Congrats though to Bas and Dean who won and super job for the Rawlings bros getting the last podium championship place!

Snetterton round 6

5th place at Snetterton. 10 points now between us and the championship leaders Graphic UK and 6 points behind us are GT Racing. Safety car got in the way and also due to a tragic incident the race was curtailed which affected who rode and how the race ended.

Pembrey Story

Bugger! A puncture and bad luck behind the safety car meant that a likely 3rd disappeared to a 6th. Now it makes winning the championship somewhat more difficult. The leaders Graphic UK are 11 points in front with only two races to go. Also GT Racing and Costello Redmond are not so far behind waiting for us to trip up. Oh well Snetterton soon, let's see what happens there.

2nd Place at Cadwell in July

Hottest race of our lives. Real hard work and we were so surprised to get a 2nd. Luckily for us two of the main contenders had some bad luck (Rawlings Racing and Graphic UK) which offset the disaster that we had at Anglesey. Graphic UK only 10 points in front. Bring it on at Pembrey!

3rd place at Snetterton in April

See the detailed race report. But we had a great chance of winning the race as we were lying second in the last session. I was catching the leader at 2 seconds per lap so it was GAME ON! But I pushed too hard and fell off at the Esses. I remounted and then managed to fall off at Sears. So picked it up again but I had lost a place and 4 points. I count this as my Troy Bayliss moment!
